The Tacoma Area Homeschool Band

We offer an entire homeschool music program for Tacoma area homeschool families (group classes in band, choir, guitar, ukulele, violin/viola, and drums). TAHB has been offering affordable programming that provides everything your kids would get in a local school in terms of music education, but often more focused, more fun, and more relational—with highly capable, caring, and qualified educators for over ten years!

Our mission

We're on a mission to make sure that being homeschooled doesn’t mean missing out! You may homeschool your kids for various reasons, and we support that, but surely you don’t want them missing out on the arts which are so important for personal growth, discipline, community, creativity, and human expression! And that’s why we are here!

Our vision

We want to see homeschoolers that love music and because they are homeschooled have unique practice routines, unique perspectives, passion for family, and a love for the community they make music with and the community they serve.

Our team

We take teaching music seriously. All our team members are carefully selected through a series of interviews, including a team interview, and an audition on their instrument, and if they pass that they then go through a series of reference checks. You can trust TI Academy teachers to provide great music education from caring, committed, and capable musician/educators.

2026-2027 School Year

If you don't see a class you want or are interested in (like something next level from the previous year), drop us a line--it may be a possibility. Also, considering learning a second instrument or piano (Piano Lab) is always a great option. All classes will meet Tuesdays beginning after Labor Day for the September through May school year with regular breaks for Thanksgiving week, Winter Break, and Spring Break.
